Virginia State Bar Names Attorney Leonard C. Heath, Jr. as President-Elect

In June 2017, Leonard C. Heath, Jr. of Heath, Old & Verser, PLCin Newport News will become the President-elect of the Virginia State Bar (VSB). This will be the first time an attorney from the Virginia Peninsula has held this position in more than 50 years. The last VSB President from this region was Fred W. Bateman, who served from 1964 to 1965 and later became a Judge of the Newport News Circuit Court.

Established in 1938 by the Virginia Supreme Court as an administrative agency, the Virginia State Bar is tasked with licensing and regulating lawyers throughout Virginia. Currently, there are approximately 32,000 attorneys that the VSB oversees, advises, supports, and regulates. The VSB’s mission is to regulate the legal profession of Virginia, advance the availability and quality of legal services provided to the people of Virginia, and to assist in improving the overall legal profession and judicial system.

From all of us at Heath, Old & Verser, P.L.C., we would like to congratulate Len on this accomplishment. To learn more about the Virginia State Bar, you can click here to visit the agency’s official website.
